Evening Meet-up and Screening of Astronaut Sally Ride Documentary
The Museum hosts a beer and wine social hour followed by a screening of the award-winning film about astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly in space. The film Sally reveals the romance and sacrifices of this complicated and iconic astronaut for the first time, as told by her life partner of 27 years, Tam O’Shaughnessy.
Sally Ride's illustrious public life as the first American woman in space concealed a secret love.
“Ride loved deeply but quietly throughout a life shaped as much by what she revealed as by what she felt obligated to hide,” wrote Roger Ebert.com, “with Sally, [director] Costantini delivers a doc that speaks to the heart and goals of someone who redefined what it means to break barriers.”
