By way of investments from gracious donors, The Museum of Flight annually offers scholarships to high school participants and alumni of Museum education programs as well as students of Raisbeck Aviation High School.

Post-Secondary STEM Education Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities for high school seniors planning to attend a college, university, or vocational school in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related to the field of aviation or aerospace.

  • Frank "Sam" and Betty Houston Post-Secondary STEM Education Scholarship  
    One student will receive a 4-year university scholarship of up to $30,000 annually for four years.
  • Jim and Sue Johnson Post-Secondary STEM Education Scholarship
    One student will each receive this $5,000 award with an opportunity for renewal.
  • Reba Gilman Endowed Scholarship
    One student will receive a one-time award of $5,000 to offset college expenses.
  • Stephen and Hazel Eastman Memorial Scholarship
    One student will receive a one-time award of $4,000 to offset college expenses.
  • Stuart Knopp Memorial Scholarship
    One student will receive a one-time award of $5,000 to offset college expenses.



Flight Training Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities for high school students who want to earn their private pilot license. The scholarships are intended for people who are interested in becoming professional pilots (e.g., commercial, cargo, corporate, crop, rescue, etc.) or working in a career in which having a private pilot's license would be beneficial.

Prior to applying for a Flight Training Scholarship, please read our Flight Training Fundamentals document to better understand the commitment involved.

  • Alaska Airlines Flight Training Scholarship
    It is expected that one high school student will receive up to $12,000 for flight instruction to the level of “Single Engine Land.”
  • Benjamin L. Ellison Future Pilot Scholarship
    Two high school students will receive up to $12,000 each for flight instruction that leads to solo, with the possibility of additional funding toward earning a Private Pilot Certificate.
  • Frank "Sam" and Betty Houston Flight Training Scholarship
    It is expected that five high school students will receive up to $12,000 each for flight instruction to the level of “Single Engine Land.”



Aeronautical Science Pathway Scholarship

A $3,000 scholarship award opportunity for students currently enrolled in Aeronautical Science Pathway (ASP) and can be used for flight training and/or post-secondary studies at a university, college, technical school, or other accredited institution of higher education.

ASP Year 1 students are eligible for flight training only; ASP Year II students may apply for either option.
