Join us for our NEW Free First Thursday drop-in workshops!
Museum staff will lead workshops to help contestants learn about different important parts of a spacesuit, ask questions, think through ideas and start to figure how to build their own spacesuits.
Workshops Details
- Thursday, January 15 and Thursday, February 5 | 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Design your own mission patches.
- Thursday, March 5 and Thursday, April 2 | 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Spacesuits can be high-tech machines. Design a (non-functional) panel to help control it.
- Thursday, May 7 and Thursday, June 4 | 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Bring your in-progress designs for help and ideas from Museum staff.
About Spacesuit Design Contest
For this contest, entrants must design and draw an original Spacesuit that follows the theme and all Contest requirements and rules. The top entrants in each category will then build their design as a wearable, but not functional, spacesuit.
The Top 5 Spacesuit designs in each category will be showcased in a Fashion Show on Saturday, June 27, 2026. A panel of judges will decide the winning design for each age category (four categories total) and the four winning designs will be showcased at Fashion in Flight in November 2026.
