If you, or a family member, have ever wanted to build a scale model airplane but don’t know where to start, this online workshop is for you. The Museum of Flight has teamed up with the master builders from the NorthWest Scale Modelers Club to offer online model-making workshops to guide you from start to finish. The NorthWest Scale Modelers have built many of the models on display at the Museum, so you know these craftspeople are world-class. Now one of them will help you assemble a model of the all-time classic fighter jet—the F-86 Sabre! To help speed the activity, the 1/72-scale model parts are pre-painted in US Air Force colors (but we won’t snitch if you tell your friends it was your steady hand with a brush that accomplished it all).

You can take the workshop at your own pace, so if you get stumped, just ask the Master Modeler via the chat window! And while you are learning the tips-of-the-trade, we’ll also tell you some little-known facts about the F-86 and the Canadian version we have in our collection!

The workshop is free with the purchase of an F-86 model kit from the Museum Store. We'll send you a registration access code to the workshop when you order the kit. Workshops like this one fill up fast, so it’s best to register soon
