Join the pilots, reconnaissance systems officers (RSOs) and maintainers (ground crew) of the Blackbird Association in a weekend-long celebration of all things Blackbird, including panel discussions, meet 'n greet opportunities and a special film screening.

These HABUs (nickname for all Blackbird pilots and crews) will be available to answer questions and sign autographs throughout each day at the Museum’s M/D-21 Blackbird located in the T.A. Wilson Great Gallery.

Each panel is set-up Q&A style, so have your burning questions ready!

12:15 PM to 1:00 PM - Film Screening: Planes That Changed the World: SR-71 Blackbird

  • The SR-71 Blackbird can travel at three times the speed of sound and at heights of 80,000 feet, at the very edge of space. But its greatest legacy is helping maintain peace when the world was on the brink of nuclear war. Even today, this marvel of engineering remains one of the fastest, highest-flying manned planes in the world. This is its remarkable history, through interviews with the men and women who built it and dared to fly it.
