Beyond the Horizon is a new speaker series that brings together voices from across aviation, aerospace and related fields to explore the ideas, innovations and human stories that shape our world. 

Designed for adults seeking a memorable and engaging night out, the series offers an inviting space to hear from people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives—ranging from pioneering professionals and creative thinkers to bold explorers and change makers. Join Xyla Foxlin, mechatronics engineer, pilot, and creator for a fireside chat as she explores the dynamic intersection of maker culture and aerospace innovation. Drawing on Xyla’s work in model rocketry and homebuilt aircraft, this informal conversation will explore the creativity, technical skill, and persistence behind building things that fly. Through personal stories, practical insight, and a spirit of curiosity, the evening offers an engaging look at how experimentation and community can open new possibilities in aviation and space.

Foxlin has reshaped how technical subjects reach mass audiences. With a BSE from Case Western Reserve University, her YouTube channel spans high-power rockets, custom camper builds, composite fabrication, math and physics explanations, boatbuilding, and the full-scale construction of an experimental aircraft of which she will be the test pilot.
