Our inflatable Portable Planetarium programs brings the night sky to your venue! Through interactive programs and storytelling which explore constellations, planets and cosmic phenomena, these programs are a great introduction to astronomy for learners of all ages and provide a wide range of astronomy-themed lessons to suit your interests. 

NOTE: All programs use our digital planetarium and require a quiet, indoor room with a minimum 25-by-25-foot area of clean, open floor space and a 14-foot high ceiling. Suitable spaces include: a gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, library or large common space. 


Under the Night Sky

Presented in our portable planetarium, learners will explore the Solar System and may be able to see planets, moons, and more. This in-person program allows for interactivity from the audience.

One World One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure

Presented in our digital portable planetarium, this STEM-based experience is intended to teach students about stars, constellations and the differences between the Moon and Earth, while promoting cross-cultural understanding. Big Bird, Elmo, and their new friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, lead an interactive journey to the stars and Moon helping kids spot the Big Dipper, find the North Star and discover why a kite can’t be flown on the moon. 

  • Suitable for learners age 4 to 6 or K-1st grade 
  • Program Length: 45-minutes 
  • Maximum Group Size: 30 participants 

One World, One Sky is a production of Adler Planetarium, Sesame Workshop, Beijing Planetarium and Liberty Science Center. One World, One Sky was produced with major support from the National Science Foundation

How to Request

Once you determine which Portable Planetarium program you wish to book, please fill out the Request Form via the link below. Once your request is received, a staff member will contact you in 3 to 5 business days to confirm your booking details.

There is a minimum of three and a maximum of five sessions per day/location.

Additional fees may apply for multiple location visits on a single day. Fees may be applied for travel to sites located more than 40 miles from The Museum of Flight. Program reservations that do not meet the required minimums may be assessed an administrative fee.

Will an adult from the booking organization need to be present?

Yes, adult supervision from the booking organization must be present at all times during programs.

How soon can I make my reservation?

Programs must be requested at least two weeks prior to the date(s) you would like to reserve, but sooner is better.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than seven days in advance of the scheduled program date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within seven days of the program date, including no-shows, are eligible for a refund minus a $50 administrative fee.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at least two weeks prior to your program date(s). Payment can be made over the phone by credit card (preferred) or purchase order (PO).
