The word docent, derived from the Latin word docere, means “to teach”—and teach is exactly what docents do best.

Docent tour guides are an important resource at the Museum. Docents are trained volunteers who study and become experts in specific exhibits and aircraft around the Museum. We ensure all our docents are passionate, approachable and full of incredible knowledge!

Docents interact with visitors, answer questions, conduct aviation and space-related talks and most of all give amazing tours! Docent tours add exciting facts and surprising stories to everything at the Museum, unveiling the guts and glory behind our amazing flying machines and allowing curious minds to ask away—offering you a more entertaining and enriching educational experience.
