SEATTLE, Feb. 7, 2018--The subject of commercial aviation safety will be discussed from the perspective of expert pilots, aircraft designers and accident investigators during a panel presentation on Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. The event marks the opening of a new exhibit at the Museum, the J. Kenneth Higgins Aviation Safety Exhibit.


Panelists include retired Boeing Chief Accident Investigator John Purvis, Boeing Flight Deck Designer Peter Morton, Boeing and FAA Test Pilot Tom Imrich, and airspace expert Steve Fulton. Rounding out the panel will be the Museum's principle designer of the Aviation Safety exhibit, Cody Othoudt. Retired President of Boeing Business Jets, Steve Taylor, will moderate the panel. The program is free with admission to the Museum.

The Museum's new J. Kenneth Higgins Aviation Safety Exhibit is integrated with the aircraft displays throughout the Museum, highlighting safety issues throughout the history of flight and how their solutions have made commercial aviation the world's safest mode of transportation.


Following the panel at 2:30 p.m., Museum Docents will offer attendees small group tours of the Safety exhibits.
