As a non-profit organization, The Museum of Flight relies on our volunteers to give docent tours and run our many diverse programs. New volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation, which is held on a monthly basis, and additional training may be required for specific volunteer assignments. Active volunteers are asked to record a minimum of 8 hours of work per month, throughout the year.

Volunteers of The Museum of Flight must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Volunteer placement is contingent upon proof that you are fully vaccinated.

Once an initial offer of volunteer status has been made, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted for those over 18 years of age. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude someone from volunteering but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability for assignment.

If we cannot place you in a volunteer position right away, your application will be kept on file for future opportunities.
