SEATTLE, June 24, 2026—On Aug. 15 the Museum offers a direct flight back to the summer of 1970 for an evening of dining and drinks, jet set styles and stewardess stories. Sky Lounge 1970 is a cheeky 21+ event inspired by the mod flight attendant fashions and hip culture during air travel's most flamboyant time.
The evening takes off with a reception at the new Runway to Runway airline fashions exhibit, where the mood is set with the uniforms that rocked the skies. Sky Lounge 1970 then cruises to the Aviation Pavilion, offering first class service surrounded by jetliners of the 70s, drinks and dining inspired by vintage international airline menus, and live retro music by the “The Vee Speeds.” Capping the evening will be a sky lounge chat with retired flight attendants who will share their spicy personal stories from the best era in air travel.
Sky Lounge 1970 runs from 6-10 p.m. and all are encouraged to take inspiration from the hip Seventies in their fashion or cosplay for the evening. This event is 21+ only, and photo I.D. is required. Tickets $120 General/$110 Museum Members; ticket includes entrance to the event, two drink tickets (cash bar after two drinks), dinner and a gift.
