The Museum of Flight is honored to have cooperation agreements with two aerospace museums in Japan: The Aichi Museum of Flight, and the Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum. These Friendship Museum partnerships are built upon mutual respect and formalized with signed agreements establishing common goals. We share ideas and best practices institutionally and strive to enrich our visitors’ educational and cultural experiences by widening our own perspective through friendships with other museums.
We deeply value our Friendship Museums and look forward to continuing our partnerships in surprising ways. Please explore these unique museums online or in person!
The Aichi Aviation Museum opened in 2017 and is in the heart of the Japanese aerospace industry in Aichi Prefecture. It is an aircraft-themed museum that aims to disseminate information on the aircraft industry, strengthen industrial tourism based on the aircraft industry, and promote the development of human resources who will lead the next-generation aircraft industry.
The Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum, or “Soraku,” is the only full-fledged aviation and space museum in Japan, conveying the longing for the sky and space of our predecessors, the history of challenges, and giving children excitement and a challenging spirit.
