Come hear about the challenge from the National Champs from Raisbeck Aviation High School and their mentors! And see their winning solar car!

The Solar Car Challenge is a project-based STEM Initiative which helps motivate students in Science, Engineering, and Alternative Energy. Each high school team is tasked with building a manned car that generates its energy from solar cells. The end result from the 9-month education cycle is the Solar Car Challenge: a closed-track event at the world famous Texas Motor Speedway. The Le Mans style duration race is designed to give students an opportunity to show the country the product of their efforts.

Raisbeck Aviation High School is located next to The Museum of Flight in the Highline School District. The school’s vision is to be the premier public high school of choice for students in King County and the region who wish to pursue their passion for aviation and aerospace in a learning environment that prepares them for higher education, citizenship, and work.

FREE to the public.
*This event occurs after hours. The Museum's galleries and exhibits will be closed.
