The Royal Aeronautical Society Seattle Branch presents "Paine Field - Snohomish County Airport: Past, Present and Future" with Ryan Zulauf, Deputy Airport Director of Paine Field.

Paine Field, the “Airport of Choice” is arguably the most diverse airport in the world and a gem of an asset for the Puget Sound Region.

As Snohomish County’s primary economic engine, the airport’s estimated impact is 65,000 jobs (34,000 direct) and annual output exceeding U.S. $20 billion.

The Airport complex is home to Boeing's factory for all 747, 767, 777, KC-46 tanker aircraft and most 787 Dreamliners, North America’s 3rd largest MRO company serving numerous major airlines, 600 general aviation based aircraft, several flight schools for fixed wing and rotary aircraft, the Center of Excellence for Advanced Aerospace & Manufacturing, and two colleges offering aerospace programs.

In addition, Paine Field is a major tourist destination with the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour, Paul Allen’s Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, Historic Flight Foundation, and the Museum of Flight Restoration Center. An estimated 400,000 tourists visit Paine Field every year.

Later this year Paine Field will begin commercial passenger operations with service provided by three airlines; Alaska, United and Southwest.
