Astrobiology: Exploring the Origins of Life
The NASA Astrobiology Institute, in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology, Montana State University, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the NASA/JPL Solar System Educators Program, is pleased to host a workshop for educators on astrobiology and the origin of life. This workshop will present the latest research in the interdisciplinary field of astrobiology, focusing on how life began on Earth and the possibility of life elsewhere in the solar system. It is the topic of a new film from Montana State University entitled, “Exploring the Origin of Life.”
The Museum of Flight is one of seven satellite locations that will connect with Georgia Tech, who will facilitate a panel discussion via video with three astrobiologists actively studying the origins of life (hence the early start time!). The Montana State University film will be shown as well and each participant will receive a DVD copy.
Join NASA Solar System Exploration Educator Denise Thompson and the Museum of Flight for a workshop that will include hands-on activities, educational resources, and best practices for facilitating astrobiology content.
