Based on his book of the same name, David K. Bowman's "The Story of Amelia Earhart" presentation features many rarely seen photos and video clips, including the final takeoff of Amelia Earhart. Bowman will be available to sign copies of his book following the program.

"What Did You Do in the War, Gram?" with Roverta A. Olinger
During World War II, Roverta A. Olinger was a young girl from South Dakota when she was given a train ticket by Boeing to come to Seattle to build bombers. Now 90 years young, Roverta has published a book about her experiences as a bomber builder, "What Did You Do in the War, Gram?" Olinger will talk about her experiences and sign copies of her book after the lecture.

Doolittle Tokyo Raider Lt. Col. Ed Saylor
Lt. Col. Ed Saylor is one of 81 flight crew members who flew in the historic "Doolittle Raid" on Tokyo on April 18, 1942. Saylor will talk about this remarkable mission that helped change the course of World War II.

Father's Day Celebration with Astronaut Mike Foreman
Free admission for all dads. Family activities throughout the Museum. From 1:30 to 3 p.m., NASA astronaut Mike Foreman will talk about his experiences in space, followed by an autograph session.

Aircraft Fly-In Event
Wings of Freedom World War II Bomber Tour
The Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour lands at Boeing Field, providing Museum visitors the unique chance to experience both of the American heavy bombers that helped win World War II. Flights and ground tours are available on the Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress and the Consolidated B-24J Liberator. Flight training is offered in a P-51C Mustang.

Military Aircraft Fly-in and Lecture
Bravo 369: Warplanes to Siberia
This fascinating lecture and presentation examines the transfer of American warplanes to the Soviet Union via the Lend-Lease program during World War II. Participants include leaders in the Bravo 369 Flight Foundation, a group that plans to fly World War II-vintage T-6 Texan training aircraft to Russia in 2014 to commemorate the Lend-Lease program. The Foundation's aircraft will fly in and be on static display in the Museum parking lot all day. The lecture will include experts on the Lend-Lease program, including Museum of Flight Senior Curator Dan Hagedorn.

Fire Department Kids' Safety Day
King County Fire & Life Safety Association is hosting the annual Kid's Safety Day at the Museum. On this day, kids of all ages can view fire equipment on display and meet the men and women who serve them. Kids will have the opportunity to climb aboard fire engines, talk with firefighters and department personnel, and learn fire and life safety skills through fun activities.

Douglas World Cruiser Celebration
In 1924, four specially built Douglas Aircraft "World Cruisers" - one of them named Seattle - set out to become the first planes to circumnavigate the globe. In 2014, local pilots Bob and Diane Dempster plan to make the same flight in Seattle II, a World Cruiser replica of their own making. The Museum will celebrate the rollout of their newly finished World Cruiser with a public ceremony and Twenties-style festivities.

Panel Presentation
American Fighter Aces Symposium
Meet some true heroes. The Museum of Flight is home to the American Fighter Aces Association, founded to recognize the 1,442 combat pilots who have received the special designation of "ace." Join us for this panel of aces and combat pilots who will share their remarkable stories of heroism. The featured Ace for this symposium is USMC Col. Dean Caswell, who flew Corsairs in the Pacific during World War II.
