B-17 Tour Guide
The Museum of Flight’s B-17 ‘F’ is a restored historic aircraft and represents the condition of the aircraft when new in 1943. Visitor tours will be offered - weather permitting - starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Interior and exterior tours will be offered every day depending on how many tour guides are available.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of two shifts per month.
Volunteers who have an avid interest in WWII history are encouraged to apply to assist with these tours. Training will be provided beginning in May that include practice tours.
To participate with interior tours, volunteers must meet these guidelines:
Be comfortable and able to move through low lighting levels, narrow walkways (8”), confined spaces and low ceiling heights.
Must be able to proceed cautiously through the B-17 to avoid damaging themselves and/or the aircraft.
To exit out of the aircraft, volunteers must be able to get down on their hands and knees for a few seconds.
