Private Group Tour

A private Docent tour is complimentary when you book your group at least two weeks in advance of your visit. Tours encompass the Great Gallery and Red Barn, and can be customized to each group's interest and schedule. A typical tour is an hour in length, and leads visitors through the evolution of aviation by examining the aircraft in the Museum's world-class collection, including the famous Blackbird, the only remaining Boeing 80A, and the Aerocar III.

Special Programs

Public programs and theatrical performances run nearly every weekend. Public programs range from lectures and panel discussions featuring notable aviation and space personalities to visiting aircraft and feature films, with special programs on Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day. The Museum's drama troupe, Amazing Skies Theater, performs scripted fifteen minute plays and improvised, living history characters in scenarios related to the Museum's exhibits. Performance times vary, but usually run weekends during the hours of 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. throughout the Museum. A complete calendar of upcoming public programs is available by clicking here.

Shuttle Trainer Crew Compartment Tours Journey to Space - 3D Movie

Shuttle Trainer Crew Compartment Tours

This exclusive 30 minute tour of the Space Shuttle Trainer Crew Compartment will allow you to go where very few have gone before. Your group will receive a safety briefing and history overview and then step aboard the Space Shuttle Trainer where our Astronauts trained for every Space Shuttle mission. You will spend approximately 20 minutes exploring both levels of the Crew Compartment. After the tour all participants will receive a commemorative patch or pin to signify that you have completed your training experience. To ensure the best experience, tours are limited to 6 participants per half hour tour.  Please schedule at least two weeks prior to arrival.  Private group tours are available Monday – Friday, 10:15 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. $30 per person in addition to admission.

3D Movie

The film recalls the glorious days of the space shuttle, reminds us that the space program did not end with the end of the shuttle flights in 2011, and vividly tells the exciting story of the next chapter of space exploration. Through stunning imagery, "Journey To Space" showcases NASA's exciting plans for future spaceflight, especially for long missions to Mars. Viewers are led on this journey by narrator Patrick Stewart, and by young new astronauts that might someday walk on another planet.

Journey to Space is available in both a 41 minute version and a 23 minute version.
