Seven Years in the Saturn System: The mission of Cassini-Huygens

July 2011 marked the seventh anniversary of the arrival of the Cassini-Huygens probe into orbit around Saturn. The mission has produced revolutionary new information about the giant planet and its retinue of more than 60 moons, as well as incredible images of this “miniature solar system.” Solar System Ambassador Dr. Ron Hobbs will provide an overview of this important voyage of discovery.
Dr. Hobbs is a Museum Educator and Public Programs Assistant at the Museum of Flight, and a Solar System Ambassador for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The Solar System Ambassador program selects and trains qualified enthusiasts to “share the excitement of space exploration.” Dr. Hobbs has had a life-long passion for the exploration of our universe.
This program is included with Museum admission and is Free for members of the Museum of Flight.
