3:00am to 9:00pm
Community Event / Festival
Murdock Theater

--Due to a rescheduling by NASA, we will be open again Friday, December 5 at 3am to provide a live broadcast of the Orion Spacecraft launch.--

The Museum will open at 3 a.m. to show a live broadcast of the first test launch of the Orion space vehicle, NASA’s newest crewed spacecraft. We will continue the live coverage for the duration of the 4-hour mission, which will see Orion climb to an altitude of 3,600 miles above the Earth, complete two orbits, and ultimately splash down in the Pacific Ocean for recovery.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Museum of Flight will be hosting an Orion Launch Party in the William M. Allen Theater at 3:00 a.m. for the live launch broadcast. In addition to the broadcast, the morning will include activities from the official NASA Launch Experience Kits, special guests, giveaways, and, most importantly for the 4 a.m. launch time, coffee and snacks. Admission to this special event will be free. However, standard museum admission will apply after 10am.

Register Early for the Orion Launch at the Museum!

Replays of Mission highlights will continue throughout the day, and come back after 5 p.m. when the Museum opens for Free Thursday, from 5 to 9 p.m.
