The Berlin Airlift—A Legacy of Friendship Image

In June of 1948, when Berlin was occupied by forces from the main former World War II Allied nations, the Soviet Union declared a blockade of all the ground transport in and out of Berlin.

“Pappy Boyington Field – A Campaign to Honor a Hero” is a chronicle of the community events surrounding the controversy to change the local airport name to “Coeur d’Alene Airport/Pappy Boyington Field."
The Museum of Flight, home of the American Fighter Aces Association, is proud to sponsor a panel of men who flew and fought in the skies over war-time Europe. 

2:00 pm in the Allen Theater

On Jan. 2, 2004, the Stardust spacecraft flew through the coma of Comet Wild 2 and collected bits of dust from the comet. Stardust Principal Investigator Don Brownlee will share the details of this exciting mission and what it has shown us about the formation of our Solar System.
