Based on J.G. Ballard’s autobiographical novel, this Steven Spielberg film tells the story of Jamie, a spoiled young British boy living with his wealthy family in pre-World War II Shanghai. Following the Japanese invasion, Jamie is separated from his parents. With the help of soldier-of-fortune Basie, Jamie learns the skills to survive a Japanese prison camp and becomes a beacon of hope for those around him. Rated PG for war violence and profanity.
