Portrayals of female characters in space films have come a long way, from Jane Fonda as scantily clad Barbarella to scientist and astronaut Anne Hathaway in Interstellar. In honor of this year’s SpaceFest theme of Ladies Who Launch, Courtney Sheehan of the Northwest Film Forum will take Museum Members on a visual tour of the changing representations of female commanders in space flicks. Members can also choose from three virtual reality experiences: 3 Minutes on Mars, Mars VR, and Space VR with VALVe. Enjoy a cold Elysian Space Dust IPA or glass of Tang with other tasty treats while milling about in our super stellar Space Gallery.
This event is free but space is limited. Light hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages are free. Beer is $5 each and is CASH ONLY.
