Ever wonder about those intrepid souls who first broke the bounds of gravity? Not the Wright brothers, but the Montgolfier brothers who first flew in a hot air balloon in 1783. Head Librarian Meredith Lowe Prather will present some of the oldest items found in our collection and talk about the challenges and successes of these intrepid flyers and their contemporaries, inspiring many generations of designers and aviators.
