SEATTLE, Feb. 1, 2017--Author Howard Lovering presents an insider's look at The Museum of Flight during his Feb. 18 lecture and booking signing about his latest publication, "For Future Generations: A History of the Museum of Flight." The 400-page, large format book mines a wealth of previously unpublished photos and stories to cultivate a new, comprehensive tale of the 50-year-old Museum. Lovering was the executive director of the Museum from 1977 through 1991. Apollo 11 astronaut Mike Collins said, "this book brings all fifty years to life, and with 20-20 vision points to an equally successful future."

"What started small grew to be a large team, recruiting thousands of supporters, building from the bottom up an institution that not only shares with but also belongs to the visitor," says Lovering. The book is not only a Museum story, it is a quintessentially Northwest story. The 2 p.m. program is free with admission to the Museum; book signings are free for all.
