Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Exhibition
Saturday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
On Nov. 6 the Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Society returns for an exhibition of their fascinating hobby, which combines the challenges of fine model-making and sophisticated strategy game-playing. Located under the Blackbird spyplane in the Museum's Great Gallery, several games will be demonstrated at the show, including those featuring aerial combat, a 1930s air racing game, hydroplane racing and other earthbound battles. Other miniatures include armies of incredibly detailed models of soldiers, animals and fantastic creatures. Visitors are encouraged to participate. The society members will be on hand to answer questions, while hundreds of models will be on display.
Flaming Geyser Flyers Model Aviation Exhibit
Sunday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Flaming Geyser Flyers Radio Controlled Association hosts a prestigious showcase of Northwest model airplanes representing the history and future of model aviation. This exhibit will include dazzling models of every size and type of flyable model aircraft, including radio control, free flight, and control line models. Flaming Geyser Flyers Radio Controlled Association is a group of radio control enthusiasts who fly their aircraft at western Washington's Flaming Geyser State Park.
