Aviation-themed Christmas tree in lobby benefits Seattle Children's Hospital

SEATTLE, Nov. 16, 2011--On Nov. 17 the Museum welcomes the holiday season with a 17-ft. Christmas tree themed "A Salute to Boeing." The tree will sparkle with decorations representing over 20 of the iconic Boeing aircraft, rockets and spacecraft produced over the past 95 years. The tree was donated to the Museum by Raisbeck Engineering, sponsored by Museum trustees, and is one of over 20 trees in the Seattle Festival of Trees program benefiting the Seattle Children's Hospital.

The tree will be decorated by volunteers from the Dr. Forrest L. Flashman Guild. The Dr. Forrest L. Flashman Guild has been creating and selling Christmas trees since 1978 and has raised over $11,000,000 for Seattle Children's Hospital. Twenty decorated trees will be on display for sponsorship at Seattle's Fairmont Olympic Hotel Festival of Trees on Nov. 20 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
