SEATTLE, March 28, 2013--Yuri's Night is an annual, global celebration of humanity's past, present and future in space. The Museum of Flight will add to the mix Friday night, April 12, with a party in a place like no other -- next to its historic Space Shuttle Trainer and Russian Soyuz space capsule in the Charles Simonyi Space Gallery. The event includes dancing to the great R&B band Two Scoops (featured this year at the Museum's Hops and Props event), a no-host bar, and appetizers from McCormick and Schmick's. The Yuri's Night World Space Party runs from 7 to 11 p.m., and is only for those 21 years and older with proper ID. Admission is $30 general/$25 Museum Members. Tickets are available online at museumtix (no service charges).
Yuri's Night parties and events are held around the world every April in commemoration of April 12, 1961, the day of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's first manned spaceflight, and April 12, 1981, the inaugural launch of NASA's space shuttle.
