The Michael P. Anderson Memorial Aerospace Program (MPA) at the Museum of Flight is named in honor of Washington native and payload commander of the Space Shuttle Columbia. It leverages Michael’s legacy to inspire middle school (6-8) youth from throughout Washington State to participate in the Museum’s exciting educational programs while being mentored by professionals in the aerospace and aviation industry.
Participants will become enrolled in an interactive online learning website, and as they complete activities on the site, will be invited to participate in MPA-sponsored events, including a full-day event at The Museum of Flight on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Activities include learning about different aircraft, Michael P. Anderson’s story, what it is like to live in space, and similar topics around flight and space.
The entire program is provided at no cost to participants. Internet access is needed.
